Worship and Music

We come together for Sunday worship at 10 am to hear and respond to God’s word.  We gather to praise God, experience the love and grace offered by Jesus Christ, and celebrate the joy of the Holy Spirit.  Sermons at Trinity provide lively and practical interpretation of scripture.  You may find yourself comforted by God’s presence or challenged to take action on behalf of God’s vision of justice and peace.

Although we are affiliated with the United Church of Christ and American Baptist denominations, our members come from many faith backgrounds.  In accordance with our American Baptist and Congregational roots, we preach from the Bible, but respect the individual’s right to hold their own beliefs about faith and practice.

Our services provide opportunities for the community to come together to grow in their faith, praise God, pray, and follow Jesus into action.  We offer a time for individual prayer requests and have a special time for children every Sunday.  On the first Sunday of each month, we celebrate Communion, and all are welcome at the table.  Children attend the first 20 minutes of worship with their parents, then they are accompanied by their teachers to their Sunday School classes. A Nursery is provided for our youngest ones for their parents’ convenience, but all of God’s children are always welcome to stay in worship, regardless of their age!

Once a month we have a special Worship for All Ages when children experience worship with their families. These services are more informal and interactive.

Enhanced by our E.M. Skinner pipe organ, music is a vital part of Trinity life.  The adult choir with its soloists and the bell choir lift up the congregation’s Sunday worship experience.

Our Chancel Choir practices each Thursday at 7:30 p.m., September through May. Contact our music director Mike Westberry for more information.

Our Handbell Choir plays periodically during worship services. Contact Tom Danforth through the church office for more information.

Occasionally, we have youth singing and/or playing music in worship. Come share your gifts with us at Trinity Church!
