Community Meals & Support

Community Meals

Since its inception in January 1996 a free, full course meal has been served every Wednesday evening at 6pm to anybody who is in need of a hearty meal and fellowship. Although the meals are free, a donation box is available for any donations.

All of the food is donated, prepared and served by volunteers from religious, business and civic organizations of Northborough and Westboro. The current religious organizations involved are Trinity Church, Rice Memorial Baptist Church, Church of the Nativity, First Parish-Unitarian Universalist, St. Bernadette, and St. Rose of Lima, all of Northborough, and Congregation B’Nai Shalom of Westboro. Other participating organizations are Northborough Junior Women, and the Rotary.

For those in need of food, fellowship or a chance to “get out”, please join us on Wednesday evenings at 6 PM in the Fellowship Hall of Trinity Church, 23 Main Street, Northborough, MA.

Please note that you can print a copy of the community meal schedule.  Please click on ‘Forms to Download’from the main menu and select Community Meal Schedule

Community Support

Trinity actively supports the community including:

The Trinity Thrift Shop Open Tuesdays and Saturdays:  The mission of the thrift shop is to offer a place for the people in our community to purchase gently used clothing and accessories at nominal prices while providing some financial support to the church.  We’re also going to offer coffee, tea, and baked goods on Saturdays in the hopes to make this a place where people can come together to meet and mingle, as well as shop.  The shop is open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10:00am – 3:00pm.

Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts: Trinity sponsors Boy Scout Troop 101, and several Girl Scout troops meet in our building.

Northborough Interfaith Clergy Association: Trinity is part of Northborough’s Interfaith Clergy group that meets monthly to pray together, to share resources, and to enjoy friendship with each other. We have representation from Church of the Nativity, First Parish Unitarian-Universalist, St. Bernadette’s, St. Rose of Lima, Trinity Church, Congregation B’nai Shalom in Westborough, and The Church of Latter Day Saints in Marlborough.

Voucher Program: The clergy provide vouchers to local vendors for use by those in need. Vouchers are available to Northborough residents or individuals related to one of our congregations. Recipients may receive free gasoline (Exxon), groceries or lunch (Lowe’s), medication (Shattuck’s), heating oil (Northborough Oil), or overnight lodging (Econolodge).
